The project has received support from the European Commission under the framework of METABUILDING GROW program. METABUILDING GROW is an initiative supported by EU Horizon 2020 and the European Innovation Council and SME Executive Agency.
 
CONSORTIUM: The consortium consisted of 5 organizations involved directly from 5 EU nations. Some organizations have multiple EU locations contributing to the project.

PROJECT
The project aimed to develop terrestrial and marine 3D construction products and uptake of new 3D printing solutions.
This is the European Union’s flagship R&D Program for SMEs.
 
Key activities:

• Development of 3D concrete recipes
• Special designs
• 3D Printing activities with developed materials
• Software development
• 3D Concrete printer development
• Analysis of new materials using 3D scanning, microscopy etc.
• Publication activities depending on results and scientific data.

 
The consortium’s 3D Printing R&D endeavor already started well before the onset of official EU project. A total of 15+ products will be developed by September 2025.
 
RENOTECH ROLE
3D Building materials recipe development. Development of smart materials with properties which are bio-receptive and self-healing. 3D Printing of items. Joint Analysis of new materials using 3D scanning, microscopy etc. Joint scientific publication. Industry-academia knowledge transfer activities. Providing industrial lecture series.
Developing robotic arm-based 3D concrete printer system.
