RENOTECH GRG
Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum
”Practically anything can be made out of this material. It can be made to look like anything, it can be shaped into whatever you want. Compared to genuine, traditional materials, it's advantage lies in the fact, that for instance due to fire safety reasons, we now have a possibility to create elements, that look a certain way, but which if made with genuine materials could not be applied in certain projects."

Product description
Renotech GRG is a glass fiber reinforced, alpha gypsum based mould cast product. Renotech GRG elements can take virtually any shape and size. Manufactured mould cast parts can be delivered fully finished and coated or unfinished to be coated on site.
Renotech GRG products are incombustible (A1 fire rated) and MED (modules B and D).
Typical use
Renotech GRG is a white gypsum product, that is mould cast into an interior architectural element. One cast GRG part weighs 10 kg/m² in avg. Alpha Gypsum is significantly finer and sets harder than regular gypsum. It's flexural strength, compared to regular gypsum products and gypsum sheets, is also remarkably higher. Renotech GRG products are lightweight, durable and easy to install. Mounting profiles are usually embedded in the element for easy fitting – the embedded profiles also act as secondary element reinforcement.
Each GRG product is cast with precise moulds which are custom made according to the specifications of each individual project. Mould precision and dimensional accuracy lowers project final cost by reducing the total installation time required.
Most typical Renotech GRG end products have been ceiling profiles and domes, decorative ceiling and wall panels, pillars, pillar capitals and bases, cornices, ceiling roses and corbels. Accurate, high quality moulds are key when producing precise and decorative GRG elements.

Delivery, Storage and Handling
Renotech GRG parts should be well protected from damage during transport. GRG parts should be placed so that strain, pressure and compression against them is at minimum. Any damage during transportation must be reported to the hauler and Renotech Oy immediately. Renotech GRG parts must be stored protected from rain, direct sunlight, very humid, other unordinary weather conditions and from on site damage. GRG parts must be kept clean and stored on dry surface indoors. To prevent warpage and other physical damage, parts must not be stacked or leaned against each other.
Installation
Smaller, lightweight Renotech GRG parts can be glued to the substrate. Since no drilling is necessary, parts can be delivered fully finished and coated.
Larger GRG parts are installed either directly to the backing structure with screws or by suspending the element on the ceiling mounting fixtures with steel wire. Mounting profiles embedded in the GRG part make installation quick and easy.
The surface of unfinished Renotech GRG parts may show small air bubble holes and other cast traces, which disappear once the element is coated. Seams and drill holes are filled with GRG putty, which leaves the surface seamless and smooth.
Finishing
Renotech GRG surface must be clean before coating. Seam and drill hole filler putty must be thoroughly hardened and dry. GRG surface must be primed before coating.
Environment
Renotech GRG is all in all a very sustainable choice of material. Durability of product can be achieved by using small amount of raw materials and it's leight weight in transportation translates into a smaller carbon footprint.
